A festive meeting between Gemeente Echt-Susteren and the Belgian neighboring town of Maaseik. At the Pater Sangersbrug over the Maas, near the narrowest part of the Netherlands, Mayor Jos Hessels of Echt-Susteren welcomed his Belgian colleague Jan Creemers and Maaseik was introduced to the Cittaslow network.
Cittaslow is an international quality mark for smaller cities and municipalities where it is ‘good life’. And that is more than a fact on both sides of the Maas. It immediately sounded like ’the good life’.
